i cant select the iPhone1, 1_2.0_5A347_Restore_ipsw file at part 2 step 3.. the file gets another name when downloaded, so i cant find the ipsw file? what am i doing wrong?

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but I think you are using iTunes 8 which prompts you to update to 2.1. Although I haven't tried it out myself, I believe you can upgrade to 2.1 from 1.1.4 but you should use the latest PwnageTool 2.1.

when i do the above & when i restore in my options t comes cancel or restore and update to 2.1 & right now i m using 1.1.4 can u please help

Sync your iPhone with iTunes first and do a restore after.

You will lose all 3rd party apps, so list them first so you know what to download again later. There's a Cydia Installer app for iPhone 2.x called AptBackup that can do backup and restore of your apps but I don't know if it's available in 1.1.4.

You need to upgrade to 1.1.4 first before upgrading to 2.x.

I think that is a common problem with PwnageTool 2.0. Download the latest version, 2.0.2 (http://rapidshare.com/files/135966331/PwnageToo…) and follow the guide again.

i get a “sry i haz fail” error and it didn't prompt me for the bootloaders. It just won't save the custom ipsw :(

running 1.1.4 j/b/unlocked
