Here is a nice and easy PC and Mac program (Mac via Paralles or VirtualBox), I recently came across. It is named 'iTwin'. http://www.i-twin.de/en I took the latest beta-version and had no problems at all. Contacts, Text Messages, Calendar entries, Notes and more ... Looks really great !

This is where I first came to try and save my texts but this only works if your phone is jailbroken. Learned that after downloadig everything. After 2 days of searching I found iPhoneBackupExtractor.com. It sells for $25 but you can find the crack torrent for it easy enough on the web. This program works by using the backup saved from itunes. I have a 3G using 3.1.3 version firmware. Hope this saves you a bunch of time and you can spend it helping someone else fix their problem

Hi Sarah,

I just bought the Decipher Tool for SMS and Voicemail. Each time I try and run the Decipher Tool, I get a pop up saying:

"Loading your iPhone backup data. This should only take a moment"

And then it freezes.

Any ideas?

Can I splice two different SMS.db files and restore it as one file to my iPhone?

…If I extract two different SMS.db files but they are both text back and forth from the same two phone numbers, can I splice them and restore it as one file to my iPhone?

I had to replace my iPhone and I have a weeks worth of text I want to “attach” to the original text thread from the old phone. Any head would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks for the great post. I've manually pulled the SMS messages from my iPhone, but I've also tried a simple tool called Decipher TextMessage. They also have a voicemail saving tool. Five bucks for a simple piece of software to do the work for me.

Hey, as far as I know, not into pdf, but you can export your SMS in Text file format (.txt file), ANTS file format (.ants file), or MHT file format (.mht file for printing) on PC by the use of this guide:

This is a good way to backup your iPhone sms.
