Looks like DiskAid is now all you need (for Mac OR PC) in order to copy just about anything from iPhone to a filer on your computer, and it seems to be a readable file w/o getting the 2nd software mentioned in this article… IF you register (by paying the $9.95 or whatever it is). It just let me navigate to SMS files and after loading them all, I could select with I wanted to get on my machine and which I did not, by contact/phone #. Pretty simple and intuitve, really. I recommend.

For you to backup iPhone contacts.You can use iTunes. But you can’t edit them after backup,and you can’t make a password to protect your privacy after your transfer iphone contacts to computer or laptop.

I have 5000 text messages now save on my PC. I read the whole thread and tested all the programs people suggested, but only one is my personal favorit: iTwin ( http://www.i-twin.de/en/ ) Nice iPhone look and all the features I needed.
