OK, so my son had a jailbroken ipod touch, which went into the washer. Replaced it with an iphone for his birthday (which is not jailbroken). When I connected it for the first time, I used his ipod backup to set it up. Now I can hardly put anything on because the 'Other' category is nearly 5GB. I understand, from the earlier post that this is likely due to the jailbreak content. I have downloaded DiskAid...how do I delete all of the jailbreak content, as his iphone will not be jailbroken? Can I delete any duplicate folder that ends in a _2?

I did the diskaid trick and it worked perfect. First thing I did was sync my iphone 3GS to have no music at all after the sync. Then I used diskaid and went into the folder as directed and found tons of files still there (I think that happened one time when I mistakenly tried to charge on an other computer). I started deleting them one music file at a time but it was painstakingly slow. So I just deleted the 'music' folder, it took like 3 minutes. They I sync;d my phone again, this time choosing the playlists I wanted, and voila! All was back to normal. I recovered 8.2GB of 'other' files. Interestingly too, there were what I guess are temp files in the DCIM folders too for old pics that I deleted as well to the tune (no pun) of another gig.
