When I first had access to the Internet in the mid 90s, Google was non-existent. Popular search engines then were Excite, Alta Vista, Infoseek, Lycos and of course Yahoo! Well, except for Yahoo, the other web search engine pioneers may now be unheard of today. I learned about Google in 1999 and since then it has become my default search engine, and I guess so too with most people today. So how did two Stanford University students created the search engine that practically ended all other search engines and built a company that is now one of the biggest software companies in the world? With Google’s slogan of “Don’t be evil”, can we trust them to keep our information in its vast databases safe from others? Find out in this video about this company that was rated by Fortune Magazine multiple times as the #1 Best Place to Work, and its drive to become the #1 software company in the world.
